BE 1251: 3D Printer Math Tool for Elementary Students

Visual-Technological

  • Brainstormed six different math tool ideas to decide on a feasible design

  • Sketched the orthographic projections and created 4/12 SolidWorks files from scratch for the stencil math tools

  • Printed all 12 math tool stencils, tested the design with the students, and presented our invention findings to our peers

BE 2350: Switch Adapted Musical Toy

Visual-Technological

  • Observed how toy interactions, attention spans, and other factors could affect the universal design process

  • Constructed a circuit, re-soldered internal wiring, and wrote code to record toy engagement within a 20-minute music lesson

  • Recorded and condensed all steps of the engineering design process over the course of a semester into a lab report

BE 3340: Process Design of Capsaicin to Hot Sauce

Written-Spoken

  • Identified the processesing of a biological component into an item accessible to the public

  • Research and designed a multi-step process that capsaicin goes through in order to become hot sauce

  • Utilized SuperPro to test the process with quanitifiable values, calculate the mass conversion in each step, and generate the cost efficiency breakdown
