Personal Statement
Interests
I have heard from peers and past program participants about the MedTech Industry focused BME Master's Program that exposes you to the entrepenuership and business relationship of creating a medical device. I would be honored to have the opportunity to gain experience successfully bringing a medical device to market. Medical devices are where my interests lie, specifically with improving diagnostic systems, quality of life for patients, and making processes/materials used today better.

Goals
By participating in this program, I hope to hone my skills as a distinguished communicator and build a better foundation in research & development (R&D) of biomedical devices. Career goals: I hope to be able to network with all of the leaders in the medical device industry that participate in the program, and internalize their advice and experiences. I want to go into the medical device industry and work in R&D, so having the opportunity to converse with those who have found profound success in the field would be beneficial in ways other programs do not offer.

Accomplishments
I am eager to explore the entire design process for a product that meets the needs of a clinical problem. Specifically, how it goes from observing a need to being commercialized and used. I will be graduating in May 2026 with my Bachelors of Science in Biological Engineering from Louisiana State University. I have learned to model in Solidworks, work in a team environment, recieved a Sophomore Honors Distinction, and plan to become a Distinguished Communicator and Engaged Citizen when I graduate. As a Biological Engineering Graduate, I have firsthand experience observing the needs of my community and coming up with a design that fills that need through multiple course-driven projects. This has set me apart from my peers and has allowed me to develop the necessary skills to succeed in gradschool and the medical technology industry.
